GARBAGE/TRASH

Trash pick-up is every Monday and Thursday mornings in front of the townhouses. This includes all holidays EXCEPT Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. If the pick-up day falls on one of these holidays, pick-up will be on the next regular service day. If the contractor cancels a pick-up due to inclement weather, there will be no makeup. Refuse may be placed on the Commons at dusk the evening before pick-up. Yard debris (e.g., leaves, clippings, limbs, branches, discarded plants, etc.) will be picked-up separately from regular trash on Wednesday mornings. Cardboard will only be picked-up on Mondays. RECYCLABLES

Glass, newspapers, metal cans, and plastic containers are picked-up for recycling every Monday. This includes all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. Normally, there will be no makeup days. The bins provided by the trash service should be used for all recyclables. All recyclable products may be placed on the Commons at dusk on Sunday evening. Fairfax County enforces the requirement to recycle large cardboard items, which cannot be accepted as regular trash. COMMUNITY DUMPSTERS

Rhygate usually arranges for large dumpsters to be placed in the community for a three day period (delivered on Friday and removed on Monday) every Spring and Autumn. Residents are encouraged to utilize the dumpsters to dispose of large items. Dates for the installation and removal of the dumpsters will be announced in the community newsletter The Randoms.
